What data is recorded?
The watermark encodes in a way unreadable to the naked eye: the book identifier, the buyer's account identifier, a unique download identifier, and the acquisition date.
What is the watermark for?
It allows identifying the origin of any unauthorized distribution of the file, as part of protecting our copyright and that of our translators.
Can it be removed?
The watermark is embedded in the PDF content stream and cannot be removed by standard tools. Any attempt to remove or modify the file constitutes a violation of our terms of use.
