Lone Star Planet

A satirical science-fiction novel narrated by Stephen Silk, a young diplomat of the Solar League. After publishing an article judged too frank, he is appointed ambassador to New Texas, an independent planet settled by descendants of Texans, which feeds the galaxy with its meat. His predecessor has just been murdered there, and Silk discovers that on New Texas killing a politician is not necessarily a crime: a court decides only whether the victim deserved it. He must also thwart the invasion plans of a neighbouring alien people. A lively political comedy full of humour.
