Book summary

A humorous American novel. In New York in the early twentieth century, a ruined young man earns his living with magic tricks and trained animals, including mice dyed every colour; one of them, a green one, escapes into the studio of his neighbour Ethelinda, a young painter. Having become her husband, William Destyn invents a device that picks up “psychic currents” and connects two people destined for each other. With his wife and his sister-in-law Sacharissa, he founds a company, The Green Mouse, to get rich; but every trial leads to unexpected and comic encounters. A light fantasy that makes fun of science and love.

The benefits of the bilingual method with Line-by-line synced layout

Every line of the original has its translation directly beneath it, at the same height. You never lose your place: your eye drops one line and lands on exactly the sentence it just read. This is the layout that lets you open a book in a language you barely know without ever giving up, and compare the two texts almost word for word.

The excerpt shows the method using another book from the catalogue, not this one.
