Book summary

Mr Sabin, an elderly French duke in exile, lives happily in Massachusetts with his wife Lucille, until the day she vanishes in New York. Anonymous letters written in yellow crayon order him to go back home: the yellow crayon is the sign of a secret society of European nobles determined to hold back the socialists. Mr Sabin follows Lucille to London, where the society is using her to influence a powerful minister. A novel of drawing rooms and politics, in which an old man stands alone against a formidable organisation.

The benefits of the bilingual method with Line-by-line synced layout

Every line of the original has its translation directly beneath it, at the same height. You never lose your place: your eye drops one line and lands on exactly the sentence it just read. This is the layout that lets you open a book in a language you barely know without ever giving up, and compare the two texts almost word for word.

The excerpt shows the method using another book from the catalogue, not this one.
